Here at Master’s Way we are committed to the following motto - In essentials unity; In non-essentials liberty; In all things love. The following are the truths that we believe to be essential to the teaching and life of MWCC.
1.) The Infallible Word of God – 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21
Original manuscript was from God. It accurately and directly communicated His will to men.
The key is Genesis 1:1. If you can believe that scripture, then you can believe any miracle in the bible.
2.) The Absolute Deity of Jesus Christ- Colossians 2:9
Jesus is God in the Flesh
3.) The Virgin birth – Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:34
4.) Historical Creation of Man – Genesis 2:7
5.) The Sinful Nature of Man
Not born with sin, but with a nature of rebellion.
6.) The Substitutionary Death of Christ – Isaiah 53:6; 1 Peter 3:18
Jesus did not die as a martyr for a cause. Instead, He died in our place for our sins. It was a substitutionary death.
7.) The Bodily Resurrection of Christ – Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
8.) The Literal Return of Christ – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13
300 times we are told in the New Testament that Christ will return.
9.) The Resurrection and Assignment of all to Either Heaven or Hell – John 5:28-29
The bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard. It also goes on to say that the wages of sin is death but the gift of salvation is free, from God.
But like any gift it must be accepted and received. How do we accept this gift?
The bible teaches that we accept that gift by Faith. But we know from the book of James that Faith is more than just intellectual belief. James says that “even the demons believe.” So exactly what is this Faith that allows us to receive the gift of salvation?
First it is belief. Belief in those nine truths that we just looked at. That belief will produce action. The Action according to the book of Acts is Repentance and Baptism.
Repentance is deciding that Jesus will now be the priority in my life. Not myself but Christ.
Baptism is an act of submission. Every time the word baptism is used in the scriptures it is the form of immersion. What better form than that to indicated our submission to Him?
So Faith is:
Believing, Repentance, and Baptism. All three equal one. At that point we are told that our sins are forgiven (good thing because the wages of sin is death. Can’t receive the gift of salvation with sin in our lives) and the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
